Christmas is Coming

Now that we have already had our wine-o and choc-o, it is time to think about other upcoming events over the Christmas period, and there are plently of them to help work off the turkey and pudding. Organised by the club, there is our annual Setanta Christmas Walk on Wednesday 28th December.  Hopefully Dave will have some details about the exact times and location on the website shortly.

For some orienteering, there is the St. Stephen's Day Score event in Three Rock Wood (Ticknock), Dublin on 26th December. This year, the proceeds from the event will be shared between supporting the Junior squad and the "Pop Over To Peter" fund (find it on Facebook). For more details see here - note the times in the email are correct, the websire is wrong.

If you want to get out for a run, there is the IMRA Djouce Handicap on 27th December. It is a count-down handicap. The countdown starts with the slowest time predicted. You set off when the clock reaches your time, i.e., if you think it will take you 42 minutes, you set off when the clock hits 42 minutes. Winner is the person who crosses the line when time runs out, or immediately after.

The Roundwood Biathlon is also on the 27th December. The event consists of a 2 mile cycle, followed by a 2 mile run, followed by another 2 mile cycle on a course around the lake in Roundwood (Vartry Lake). All funds raised are in aid of Cancer Research.

Tuesday 27th December: IMRA Djouce Handicap, 11am
