2010 IOC Relays

With the 2010 Irish Orienteering Championships (IOC) fast approaching it is time to start thinking about teams for the relays. The IOC Relays will be held in an extended Magilligan Dunes on day 3 of the IOC - Sunday, 25th April 2010.

Can you please let me know if you are going to the IOC and if you want to run on a relay team? Don't worry if you haven't done much orienteering before or if you think you aren't strong enough for a team, there are many different levels and a handicap system is used. It is a bit of fun, so please put your name down for a team if you will be there!! Setanta covers the cost of entry to the IOC relays for club members. To avail of the reduced fees, we need to enter our teams by 12th April (similar for individual entries).

Terrain
NWOC will be using an area of the Magilligan map which is covered in low lying dunes. Most of the ground is grazed and will be very fast running. Some small areas of intricate contours will provide interesting navigation. There is no vegetation to impede running but many gates and crossing points will be needed because of the many fences.
