From Enniskerry proceed past Powerscourt House toward Powerscourt Waterfall. Orienteering events may start at Crone car park or from the Long Hill car parks on the road to Roundwood. There will be local sign posting.
Fair Mountain O 074 002

Approach from Laragh to the East. Travel in direction of Glendalough taking the Wicklow Gap road. Alternatively it may be approached from West Wicklow by taking the Wicklow Gap road. The area is west of the Turlough Hill power generating station.

From Laragh, take the R756 towards the Wicklow gap. Follow signs for Wicklow Gap. After you pas over the gap, the forest entrance is 2k further on on the left-hand side

This area is close to Dublin City, being only a few kilometres south of Rathfarnham and east of Tallaght.
From Ballyboden or Knocklyon, approach via Scholarstown Road and Stocking Lane.
From Oldbawn, approach via Oldcourt Road.
Kindlestown O 267 123

From Dublin: From the M11/N11 south to Kilmacanogue, take the exit signposted "Glenview Hotel". Take the 2nd right turn signposted “Glen of Downs” Golf Club (do not cross the flyover bridge). Pass the Golf Club on your left, travel to top of road and at junction turn right signposted Delgany 3 km. The entrance to Kindlestown car park is up the hill and on your left.
Knocksink Woods O 224 175

Situated in the Glencullen river valley just north of Enniskerry. Entry to Knocksink Wood is from the Dublin Road.

Public Transport:
The number 44 bus goes from Townsend Street in the city center, about every 45 minutes, to Enniskerry and will take about 1 hour. 

The other option is to take the DART to Bray and then take the number 185 bus from Bray to Enniskerry. This bus takes about 30 minutes from Bray.
Mullaghmeen N 481 775

Signposted from Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath (please follow the one-way traffic system in villiage and turn into Water Street). 
Look out for "Mullaghmeen Country" signs in addition to the normal orienteering signs. 
Take the R394 Caslepollard exit off the N4 Mullingar bye-pass.

Orienteering events are normally sign posted from Castlepollard to the South, although it can also be approached from the Oldcastle to Finea Road on the Northern end. There are numerous minor roads in the vicinity and it is easy to get lost on the way. Look out for signs to “Mullaghmeen Country” or head in the direction of the large forest on the high ground that is visible for many miles in all directions.
Newcastle Demesne N 184 567

Newcastle Demesne is located an hour’s drive from Dublin’s M50, 3km from Ballymahon, Co Longford.

If traveling from N4 (Mullingar Bypass) take Castlepollard/Town Centre exit and follow town centre/Athlone direction until reaching roundabout signposted Athlone/Ballymahon (right). Take R392 towards Ballymahon. Proceed through Rathconrath and Moyvore and approx. 4 km before Ballymahon turn right off the R392 onto a minor road (L119) signposted "Barry" to Newcastle House.

Otherwise, go to the main street in Ballymahon, between the River Inn and an old church, there is a narrow side road. Follow this carefully for about 2 kilometres to a T junction beside Newcastle bridge. On the far side of the road you will find a small car park and picnic area.
Shanganagh O 257 207

Follow the N11 South and exit the Motorway at the first exit for Bray. When you come to a roundabout, go left. Follow that road for about .5 mile and make a right into Shanganagh Cemetery. Follow that short road for approximately 300 metres and there is a car park on your left.
