Fair Mountain

Fair Mountain is in the Wicklow Mountains National Park, an exposed upland area to the west of Turlough Hill pumped storage power station. It was first mapped (Pat Healy map based on Stirling Surveys photogrammetry) for the Leinster Orineteering Championships 2008. Fair Mountain is mainly open mountain terrain with lots of contour detail and many rock, peat and water features. There are also dispersed forest areas to add to the interest. The lofty crags to the east of Fair Mountain are dangerous and out of bounds.

Directions

Approach from Laragh to the East. Travel in direction of Glendalough taking the Wicklow Gap road. Alternatively it may be approached from West Wicklow by taking the Wicklow Gap road. The area is west of the Turlough Hill power generating station.
