Setanta will hold a local event in Glen of The Downs, Kilmacanogue, County Wicklow. Parking is at the Glen car park off the N11 just south of Kilmacanogue. Grid Reference: O 257 115

There will be 3 courses - Long, Medium and Short. Course lengths:-



  • Long 6.1km

  • Medium 3.7km

  • Short 2.2km

Starts are between 11am and 1pm.

The Glen is steep-sided and is wooded with mainly beech trees. This is a good area for families and those new to orienteering as there is a good network of paths in the forest but still technical enough for experienced orienteers.

NOTE: there is only access to the car park from the southbound N11. Take care entering and leaving the car park as the entrance is directly off the N11 (busy/fast road). Event will be signposted approx 200m before the turn into the car park.

Thanks to everyone who came out to help at the Glen of the Downs event last Sunday and to David Dare for looking after the organisation on the day in my absence. Seems like the courses were pretty tough!!!
